NBG Radio Network Signs Shadoe Stevens to Multi-Year Deal PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 1999--NBG Radio Network (OTC:NSBD - news) announced today the signing of a multi-year agreement with Shadoe Stevens and Stevens' production company Rhythm Radio LLC to host and produce a weekly package of music programs featuring exciting high-energy music from around the world. The package includes World Atomic Rhythm Party, a highly produced four-hour presentation of upbeat, compelling music and behind-the-scenes stories about artists and music alike, plus daily five-minute vignettes called Fly-Bys. The package is designed to give program directors maximum flexibility: they can program the daily Fly-Bys as instant, stand-alone format energizers, or use them to promote the four-hour World Atomic Rhythm Party. NBG Radio Network will be responsible for syndication, affiliate clearance, and national advertising representation. An internationally known radio and television personality, Shadoe Stevens is also one of radio's most innovative and influential radio programmers. As program director and on-air personality at KROQ-FM, Los Angeles, Stevens created the first Alternative Rock format and made it an instant success. At the fabled KMET and KRLA in Los Angeles, he created the first commercially successful Album Oriented Rock formats. The concept for Rhythm Radio and World Atomic Rhythm Party came to him when he was the host of American Top 40, the most widely syndicated radio program in the world, with an estimated 1 billion listeners in 120 countries. While promoting American Top 40 around the world, between 1988-1995, Stevens discovered extraordinary, irresistible music in many languages, spanning cultures and generations. According to Shadoe, ''The experience gave birth to the notion of a global music network and a format that would showcase the extraordinary rhythms and inspiring diversity of the greatest music in the world. People would get the thrill of discovering exciting new music in shows that celebrate the greatest, most uplifting music from the charts.'' With this in mind, Shadoe set about testing the concept. After nearly two years of market research, Shadoe created World Atomic Rhythm Party and Fly-Bys, featuring exciting music from the U.S. charts and all over the world. Extensive research has concluded that the program has widespread demographic appeal. Shadoe adds, ''It will brand stations with a distinct and lasting impression that the competition will not have an answer for, an attitude and state of mind that we call 'The Sound of the World in a Good Mood.''' Unprecedented in their production approach, the presentations are highly produced and as innovative as the content. The music of each show is woven together irresistibly with original music known as IMPs. These ''Interstitial Music Pieces'' are produced by three time Grammy Award winner Charlie Midnight and Grammy nominated producer/arranger Tom Canning. Both programs are scheduled to debut on April 2, 1999. According to Steve Sears, VP/Programming for NBG Radio Network, ''These shows will be a great way to image radio stations with Shadoe Stevens, one of the most recognized names and voices in world media. NBG is excited about the weekly four hour show and the daily five minute vignettes; we are anticipating this package to completely redefine contemporary radio with a global design for the 21st Century.'' World Atomic Rhythm Party and Fly-Bys are delivered on a market exclusive basis. For more information on the programs, please call the NBG Radio Network at 800/572-4624 ext. 0.
