It could be an opportunity for some early action this week. Last week's early action caught many of us by surprise.

.89 X 4 = 3.56
At $45 a share without considering growth that's a P/E of 12.64. Interesting.

Is there any reason to worry that coming from a basing at 32 to 45 so quickly may increase the likelihood of a sell off on the news? That's what I'm worried about. If we are anywhere near 50, the stock may just plough under with profit taking back to the nice round number 42. Then it might build from there over the next 3 months as the rest of the products and news support investor confidence.

It's a typo for sure. However, one thing I've learned - any upside Apple comes through with is expected at this point.

I don't think you'll see a runup in the stock, unless the earnings are a complete blowout, aka, close to $0.90/share.

From a majority of the data I see on the web, $0.70 is expected, and I think everyone expects Apple to beat that handily. So even earnings of $0.75 or $0.80 are just going to be seen as part of the turnaround.

People will instead focus on doubts - ie, will the new G3s sell? That modem rumor was a good indication of how willing people are to believe that Apple will mess up. There will be concerns that the iMac will start weakening.

I do not expect these type of concerns to abate until Apple has been profitable so long that the turnaround is fodder for MBA case studies :) Seriously, until P1 and Mac OS X ships, big ?s will surround AAPL for non-believers.

Anyway, I expect them to beat earnings, around $0.80. Then again, I have been disappointed that Eric hasn't run an estimate yet.

Have you noticed, that his projection of 504k iMacs was almost dead on the money? Always impressive.
