Any capital gain, whether from sale of stock or options, gets taxed at 28% if held less than 18 months, and at 20% if more than 18 months.

I think you better check the tax laws again. The holding period was changed BACK to 12 months.

(As far as I'm concerned, its always a bit of a guess trying to calculate tax rates/laws for the future. The IRS seems to have no problem changing the rules part way through the game. I've been burned more than once when they change the laws part way through my long term investment.)
