Larry, Dimiensional Fund's laggard performance may not have been due to their selecting Valance as Valance according to IBD has a relative strength of 74 which means only 36% of the stocks performed better than Valance. This means that some of the stocks they selected did much worse than Valance. Looks like Valance would have been one of their better picks.

Also those that buy for the long term growth prospects look to get in before the stock is discovered or accumulated by a large number of institutions. These are the folks that get the huge percentage gains while the Johnny come lately;s settle for the double and triple. And some lose or settle for the 10 or 20% gain. To each his own as that is what a market makes.

Larry> It would appear that you really do like to argue. If you believe past results are not a particularly good indicator of future results, then how can you come to the conclusion that Dimensional isn't very good at picking small cap winners based on past performance? duckster
