Earning of $.16/sh is not likely to cause a significant upward movement in stock price because it is near the consensus and therefore has been discounted into the stock price. IMHO it will take $.20+/sh or a favorable news release on future revenues and earning to cause upward movement above $30/sh. IMHO there needs to be expectations of earnings of $1.60-2.00/sh to support a price of $40/sh. As of this date, only one analyst of 20 projects earning at $1.60/sh or better.

Any constructive opinions on this based on knowledgeable financial projections?

There is too wide range for AMD estimates : from $0.06 - to $0.30 by Zacks. I think that $0.16 is the simplest math average and means a little. Might be big surprise in the Q report.
