Yahoo! Signs Agreement with IBM

Access to My Yahoo! Offered on New IBM Aptiva PC Line

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO - news) today
announced a global distribution agreement with IBM (NYSE: IBM - news), the world's largest
information technology company. Under the agreement, IBM's new Aptiva PC line (announced
January 7, 1999 in a separate release) offers Internet services from Yahoo!. The new IBM Aptiva
PCs connect to both Yahoo!'s Web directory capabilities (www.yahoo.com) and personalized
Web pages ( my.yahoo.com ).

The new IBM Aptiva PCs connect to a co-branded My Yahoo! start page, enabling users to fully
personalize their Web experience with updated national news, sports and financial information,
local weather reports and more. The co-branded My Yahoo! start page also includes a
customized area for IBM Aptiva PC owners to access proprietary content from IBM such as
news, information about new products, and online customer support services.

''We are thrilled to be working with IBM to further the distribution of Yahoo!'s programming
and services to IBM customers worldwide,'' said Ellen Siminoff, vice president of business
development and strategic planning at Yahoo!. ''We share IBM's commitment to making life
easier for users seeking to harness the power of the Internet. Connecting to My Yahoo! offers
Aptiva users the capability to personalize and enhance their Internet experience, providing an
immediate, customized point of entry to the Web.''

Personalize the Web

The new IBM Aptiva PC line features one-key access to the Internet, offering users a choice of
several leading service providers. When connected to the Internet, Aptiva users can access the
co-branded My Yahoo! start page. This functionality enables users to immediately personalize
their Web experience and take advantage of all the Web has to offer.

The co-branded My Yahoo! start page allows for rapid access to the World Wide Web, as well as
IBM's news, promotions, products and online customer support. As a registered My Yahoo! user,
the entire suite of Yahoo!'s 13 free member services including shopping, auctions, classifieds,
travel reservations and ticket purchases, chat, clubs, address book, instant messaging, message
boards, and games are available. Portfolios, community tools, financial market news and
investment research drawn from Yahoo! Finance ( quote.yahoo.com ) are also
personalized through the co-branded My Yahoo! start page. Additionally, free Yahoo! Mail (
mail.yahoo.com ) alerts users to the receipt of new email on their My Yahoo! start page.

''This agreement with Yahoo! further punctuates IBM's commitment to provide customers with
an uncomplicated Internet experience,'' said Brian Conners, general manager of IBM's consumer
systems. ''Enabling users to personalize their Internet functionality through My Yahoo! is one
of the many ways IBM is helping our customers enhance their lifestyle through the Internet.''
