Tom: Glad you're enjoying MS. Yahoo gives the shares outstanding and the float for companies. Try this address and then do a search for the companies:

biz.yahoo.com

The number of shares outstanding is the total number of shares (held by insiders and the public), and float is the number of shares available to be traded by the public.

The data provider Quotes Plus provides this info, too, btw. It's one of the best end-of-day data services (and among the cheapest) and works well with Metastock. The best thing about the program is the scanning, and scans are much faster in QP than in Metastock, so you can scan for lists and then go to Metastock to check out the charts.
