When you buy into a shorted stock coming off it's bottom it's the "Free money, free money" principle coming back to haunt the shorter. What goes around really does come around I suppose.

He messed up looking soley at the financials and not fundamentals based upon expected growth. He obviously never took into account the relative ease with which they've been able to refinance their debt in the past or their uncontested status (read monopoly) in their market.
