I lived in Chicago for 8 years and grew up 80 miles from there, so I know all about corruption there. There were some recent cases referenced in the article, so there are still some shenanigans going on.

I remember going to vote in the 1986 election in Chicago. I lived in the northernmost precinct in the city at the time. We voted at a school. So I'm in the booth going through my ballot when the elderly woman in the next booth over asked an election judge for some help. He walks over and says, "Punch here and you'll be done." I stole a glance over and noticed she punched for the Democrat straight ticket.

Here's the refrain from a song I heard once about Chicago elections, sung to the tune of the Ghostbusters theme:

You need some votes
In the 40th Ward
Who you gonna call
Ghostvoters!!
