It may be quicker than anticipated: Japan's PC Sales in Second Week of Dec. Expand Sharply January 11, 1999 (TOKYO) -- Japan's personal computer market is booming, with PC sales outlets jammed with buyers on the weekends. According to data collected by GfK Japan, PC sales at about 2,000 shops in the second week of December (Dec. 14 - 20, 1998), increased 80.4 percent in volume and rose 75.8 percent in value compared with the same week a year earlier (Dec. 15-21, 1997).
