I try to avoid the parks. Fun when the big fish come up in the fall, but otherwise there are lots of rude people there.

There are other rivers which are stocked or other parts of the same rivers or stream which can be fished without running into so many folks. I like the nasty weather the best. This really cuts down the people. We do have a few small streams that have "wild" trout -- naturally reproducing, I mean. These are a lot of fun after a good rain or snow melt. Hard to find fish which meet the size restrictions, though.

Couple of years ago I made a trip to lake Oba? in Ontario and fished for walleye -- I agree that this is a very tasty fish, but I do like the "stronger" tasting fish, too. Crappie is almost too mild for me.

Do you have a lot of favorite local fishing holes?
