Well, if you don't *need* the features of the Silicon Graphics Visual Workstations, yes, you may want to buy something else for those Excel spreadsheets. That doesn't surprise me at all. The business model doesn't require SGI to grab 70% of Dell's market either

Exactly my point, the vast majority of the NT market does not absolutely need those features, and as long as the premium for those features is what it appears to be today, then the only buyers will be those particular niches that need more than 32MB of texture memory, or studio quality video. The rest of the market (which I'll wager is probably around 98% of the NT market) doesn't need those features and unless they have money to burn (like financial houses) and care more about chic than they do about costs, they'll purchase the systems that target their needs without extra cost options.

Of course, those brokerages are nothing to sneeze at, they pay full price and buy those expensive service contracts, upgrade often and seem to all just love NT on the desktop, so there may be a good market there, time will tell if it is enough to sustain SGI.

Well Alexis, I've made several, hmmm... well shall we say nine comments at least about SGI. I was just speaking today with my good friend at xinside. The pci nine digital interface revolution 4 is supported with opengl and my favorite multihead. So having bought 60k shares of nine at less than 1.25, when the price hits 2 3/8, 2k shares will go and I will speak to buycomp.com for a couple of dem sweet sgi suckers. After all, I is the Wacky MarketZoid N-gin_EaR.

Hear are my dual hitachi's.

And after all, I'm worth it.

Today I called several distributor's, no one had them in stock, they were all sold out.
