Sold VTS & NOI today - can't pass $2 moves here...

Trying not to get greedy; selling winners into strength & rebuying laggards as they keep turning the next day...

Sold VTS & NOI - buying more GIFI, UFAB & FGI on dips - I may have to file one of those SC 13 D Edgar filings if I buy any more FGI <VBG>. I feel selling my winners into strength gives me a hedge against negative API #'s tomorrow. I lock in my gains; but also have cash to buy on a potential dip off of a negative API report. If the API report is good; I sell my laggards into strength and re-buy my winners on the probable pullback a few days later <VBG>.

For once; I feel like I am trading ahead of this market. A damn nice feeling, I may add...

Actually; with FGI - I think I have a piece of my puzzle starting to fill in:

edgar-online.com

Cambridge; one of the top Hedge Funds has a huge position in FGI; they can not dump this much stock; however they sure as hell can short it to hedge their position ! This is a partial answe to the ''short position'' riddle... I believe more than one holder was prudent in hedging his large bet & shorting as a hedge position. They will ''uncover'' their possible hedged position sooner or later; the $64 question is - what is their ''swing'' price; as what point does the mo-mo change to where it is to their advantage to uncover & go long ? I wish I had stats on where the short selling on FGI accelerated in relationship to its price at that time. I'm guessing $18ish as the ''swing'' price. If we bounce back to $16-18; and crude Oil has positive momenteum; I see FGI flying ahead of the pack here to $24ish. Time will tell; when they do - ''to the moon Alice " ! A coiled spring - this may be ''the'' play here imho.
