Wayne, et al, Barron's GMI was 334.21 on 1/14/99, down from 354.58 last week. With the POG down to 285.95 (1/15), the ratio is 1.169, down from last week's 1.231 and in the range of values that strongly suggest that the XAU will be substantially higher within a year. For what it's worth, in the lead column, Rhonda Brammer says forget the Internet and think Canadian gas and, in the first installment of their Roundtable, the consensus for the broad market in 99 was mildly bearish.
