Ron, while you were serving your country, I was also, though not in uniform. I heard the call from (first term)President Reagan and transfered to a Defense Contracting arm of the company I worked for.. The President said we would also serve Freedom by providing the arms.

I did this at a cost. It cost me money, status, and over time my job.
Yes, I paid my dues. My answer to my President's call to duty cost me
dearly. I lost a job of 17 years due to the defence cut backs, while if I had not responded to the call, I'd still be working for them.

WHERE DID YOU GET MOBS AND THE RIOT CRAP FROM MY POST? Lost me on that one! He was talking about federally subsidized housing in DC.

<<Funny thing is that most people who gripe about their rights have forgotten how much blood was shed to establish and preserve them in the first place. And the folks who did the bleeding were American citizen soldiers who answered the call to defend our way of life from those who seek to destroy it, both domestically and from abroad.<<

I have heard about Valley Forge through two people. My grandfather told me, his great-grandmother told him. Her grandmother was Nancy Allen who took food to her father and brothers at VF. She was 11 or 12 at the time. (And a first cousin of Ethan Allens'.)

All in all I have 9 ancestors who fought in the Revolution. 11 ancestors in the Civil War. My grandfather was in WWI. My uncle was shot in the Phillipines. Another uncle was in North Africa from 45-48. My father was in the service during the Korean War.

I was born in 1963 so too young for any wars going on at the time.

So, what is your great contribution to the safety of the US? Sweeping up some rubble?
