have a few minutes to update directly-

the SSB conference is very well attended - about 2x last years (500+) just got out of Bernie Ebbers impressive luncheon presentation. responding to a question of how to increase their (MCI-WCOM) onnet (meaning of course for them, local loop), Ebbers brought up fixed wireless saying it is a "very, very viable solution" further emphasizing it's viability for their major growth segment - broadband data. I LOVED hearing this - it seemed most in the room understood the importance with Bernie's underscore - but most *I* have spoken with DIDN'T really know the WCII story. As I hae suggested before - "we" have a LOT of "attention" upside. Ebbers said they were already using some BBFW on a resale basis. Didn't say who.

OT - having gotten in on DCLK's secondary offering (BTAB, SSB) at 34 last month, they gave a very impressive presentation (SSB analyst Lanny Baker's #1 internet pick). I see the stock easily doubling from here going into next year. WinStar tie-in? Secondary's are often great launch vehicles for new and renewed street focus and $$$, and are usually filed when there is a kicker announcement (just like DCLK today) or two to sweeten the offering after deal is done. I'd be surprised if Grubman and Governali (two of the top 3 II (Institutional Investor) rated telecom analysts) would sell this to their telecom clients without feeling strongly about current and near future successes.

Off to Bell Atlantic
