here is some of the new logic:

Gruntal & Co. said Monday it upgraded Quantum Corp. to strong buy from hold and set a 12-month stock price of 45.

-- Gruntal says in a report that with the semiconductor group beginning to outperform the S&P 500 stock index, ''we believe disk drive stocks will ride the wave.''
