OT OT OT:

<OT OT OT> re: but because they sent me this great car coffee holder.

Would that be for a BMW by chance?

While admiring BMW and other german vehicular handling characteristics and japanese inovations for bringing new inovations down to a lower cost for the masses, I have to admit that the american auto industry really excells in cup holder technology.

It is my belief that they have the japanese beat by 2 years and the germans beat by at least a decade. Instead of motor trend presenting with the car of the year award, there ought to be a "starbucks" award for the most inovative automotive cup holder. I'd love to see road and track run a cup holder test between a Z-28, Trans-am, 958 and a M3 or M5.

It is my understanding that there are now gov't subsidies being given to cup holder inovations. Volvo may be promoting a safer cup holder that will prevent frontal spills at speeds up to 30 mph. There is an actuall automatic tension system that is activated by sensors placed in the front bumper that will automatically tighten the grip of the coffee holder at speeds up to 10 mph.

BTW, is it true that they don't recall BMW's,.... they just shoot them?

<g>....

Good luck on your quest for the holy grail (cup holder).

David.

Oh, to make this relevent to the DELL thread.... GO DELL (8K and loving it).
