Rocky Mountain Internet RMII Appoints President and Chief Operating Officer; Prominent Executive Will Oversee Company Operations

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 1999--Rocky Mountain Internet
Inc. (NASDAQ SmallCap Market:RMII) (NASDAQ SmallCap Market:RMIIW) a
nationwide e-commerce and communications company based in Colorado,
Tuesday announced the appointment of Mary Beth Vitale as its president
and chief operating officer. Vitale, who has been an outside member of RMI's board of directors, will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Rocky Mountain Internet (RMI).
Prior to RMI, Vitale was president of AT&T's Local Service
Organization for the western states. She was responsible for providing
strategic planning, implementation and new product development for
AT&T's entry into the local telephone market. In addition, Vitale
chaired AT&T's senior leadership team overseeing the company's
external positioning and business integration throughout her region.
"Vitale brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to
RMI's management team," said Douglas H. Hanson, chairman and chief
executive officer of RMI. "Her proven leadership ability will
positively impact the operations of our company and allow me to focus
on our aggressive growth strategy." Vitale has more than 20 years' experience in the telecommunications and consumer products industries. Prior to AT&T, Vitale held the position of vice president of marketing for US West Communications Carrier Market Unit, regional executive director for US West Cellular and regional sales director for the Adolph Coors Co. "Rocky Mountain Internet is an dynamic company that is building a strong position in an industry with tremendous potential," commented Vitale. Vitale currently serves on the board of directors for the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Saint Joseph Hospital and the Public Education and Business Coalition Board, among many other organizations. She resides in Denver with her husband, Neil, and her daughter, Kathleen.
