For those of you who don't have AOL, I wanted to point out that THQ got news placement in the weekend circulars again. Best Buy was pushing NWO/Revenge at $59.99 and get this, K-Mart featured WCW Nitro PC at $34.95 or $34.99. Toss in Target promoting Rugrats last weekend and it shows that THQ's big guns continue to bring in big bucks.

I'm very excited about the potential for Thunder. We all know what a phenomenon Revenge has been. But Thunder has some competitive advantages over Revenge. For instance, Revenge came out less than three months after WCW's WWF N64 game, while Thunder is going to have about six months. Also, Revenge came out eleven months after THQ's previous WCW game on that platform, and only two months after the secondary push from the $39.95 price cut in August. But Thunder gets a full year since the last WCW PSX game and we all know that Nitro PSX sales have been pretty small for the last six months.

Toss in the fact that Thunder will benefit from all the Playstation consoles under the tree this Christmas, an advantage that Revenge is only now getting.

Sounds like 1.5 million Thunder this quarter or more. And it should end up THQ's biggest seller ever.

Meanwhile, I'm already looking forward to the Rugrats movie video release. Besides the sure to be huge Rugrats N64 game, it will have to mean a few hundred thousand extra PSX sales that quarter. And a very low WCW pct. Ie, Q2 shows we can make a killing without much WCW and Q3 shows we can continue growth without a single WCW dime.
