Vivitar Introduces ViviCam 2750 Digital Camera With Specific Slot for CompactFlash Film Cards

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 1999--SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK - news) announced today that Vivitar, one of the nation's largest camera manufacturers, has introduced the ViviCam 2750, a new affordable digital camera, which has a specific slot for CompactFlash™ (CF™) memory cards invented by SanDisk. The new camera was introduced last week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV.

A special SanDisk discount coupon for SanDisk CompactFlash memory cards and ImageMate external CF drive will be included with each ViviCam 2750 sold.

The new ViviCam 2750 is a VGA 640 x 480 resolution digital camera with LCD display and optical viewfinder. The new camera includes a fully featured control panel, 2MB (megabyte) internal memory and video outputs for VCR taping of images or playback on television sets.

''This marks the 61st digital camera to use CompactFlash memory cards,'' said, Nelson Chan, vice president of marketing at SanDisk. ''We are pleased to be working with Vivitar in jointly marketing this new digital camera. This partnership allows SanDisk to offer to ViviCam customers a special price on our CompactFlash cards as well as our popular ImageMate which is now available in both parallel port and USB versions.''

''CompactFlash is the industry standard for digital film in digital cameras as well as the industry standard storage card for the Windows CE platform,'' said Tom Piehn, senior product manager at Vivitar. ''SanDisk CompactFlash cards are reusable, durable and reliable memory cards that are very popular with consumers. The SanDisk ImageMate external CF drive and SanDisk CompactFlash memory cards are sold today at more than 7,000 stores worldwide. Available CF capacities range from 4 to 48MB. SanDisk's 64, 80 and 96MB CF cards will be available later this quarter.
