I invest both in ATHM and AOL (much more AOL than ATHM). ATHM is alleged to be the future of the internet, with cable bandwidth. Well, fine, but ATHM needs AOL much more than AOL needs ATHM. Why? 40-50M AOL subscribers, vs under 1M for ATHM. And most cable installers are still busy chasing squirrels off tree limbs, so cable will not be threat for another 1-2 years. In the meantime, AOL is talking DSL to some telcos. So if I were an ATHM manager, I would be shining Steve Cases' shoes.
