Keith,

Looks like IBM and SUNW still contributing more innovation than MSFT despite their "lower margins". Doesn't this go against the "no-competition" is good for consumers mentality? Even Apple who has probably 1/10th the marketshare of MSFT managed to almost contribute as many new "innovations" as the Greatest Show on Earth.

Sure, but you're still missing the point that the mass-market world desires one standard/dominant OS. (Or at least multiple OSes with share common interfaces.)
