What part of that was illegal? Lots of regs on sturgeon in Ca. I'm originally from Wisconsin. Born in Milwaukee and moved to Ca. when I was 15. The Ca. delta is great for sturgeon, so I'm told. My brother catches them all the time.( i've seen lots of sturgeon, post catch) He was quite upset that we didn't catch one last weekend. He says the water is too cold, they like it when it rains alot, then they start feeding. Plus my boat sucks for big game fishing. Its a aft cabin, high above the water and not enough room for whiping the pole to hook the fish.

Anyways, I think sturgeon here have to be 72" or up to ?. I forget the max, but they are a slot fish, too small or too big, throw em back. Prehistoric they are and they look and fight that way too.( so I heard, have yet to catch my first.)

Good Luck!!

D.

EDIT Looking for a chance to change boats to a good fishing yacht.
