David - slightly old news re: more stock buyback. PTNX's website has a press release dated 10 Feb 99 announcing that PTNX's BOD authorized purchase of up to another 1 million shares on the open market. Prior approvals in Jan or Feb 1997 and on 15 May 98 have resulted in outstanding shares dropping from 8.3 million at the end of FY 97 (28 Mar 98) to 6,662,909 (diluted) shares outstanding on January 9, 1999, per PTNX's SEC Form 10-Q filed 5 Feb 99 (available through the SEC's Edgar db).

While I was browsing at Edgar, I also noted that some large holders had filed some SEC Form 13Gs (the form that persons or other legal entities with beneficial ownership of 10% or more shares must file at the end of each, I think, quarter if there is a change), or amendments thereto, reflecting percentage ownership increases due to the buyback.

The PTNX website (www.printronix.com) also has some new product announcements for '99, and the descriptions indicate that it's meeting its targets on release dates and on product specs.
Regards,
Harry
