MK,

Who cares about viagra here at the moment....we have bubonic plague...so many bodies and the NHS is so poor they are packing the stiffs in refigerated meat delivery lorries...would be political suicide for government to subsidise viagra.

martin,

The bottom line is that with Viagra, the abuse potential is high and it would be very difficult to differentiate the liars from those who truly have ED. In a system of socialized medicine where everyone pays for the service there will be a much more "reasonable" stance regarding lifestyle drugs such as Viagra.

Also, after the ACC article just released it can now be argued that, at the very least, Viagra has not been adequately tested in men with CVD. Several lawsuits were filed against HMOs that refused to cover Viagra. The HMOs were accused of using the safety issues as an excuse for not covering Viagra. IMO the ACC article now supports the stance not to cover Viagra because it has clearly indicated that there are many safety questions which still are unanswered.
