CA, CT (our home state) and others are requiring HMO's to reimburse for the use of Viarga and other drugs. The HMO's are being squeezed (but they should have a good margin expansion in 99 due to rate increases and their squeezing doctors and hosipitals).

At least on a short term basis (next two years) drug companies have a good political outlook (but the gov't will focus on them again).

Did a single Jan. 2000 115 put this morning and got 14 for it, stock was about 111.5. Wish I had more guts, someone else got about 30 of them at the same time. tim

OFF TOPIC...Any opinion on WLA? It also has been declining along with the rest of the pharmaceuticals. I know you've liked this company in the past. Do you think the Medicare Commission's suggestion to change Medicare is having an impact on pharmaceuticals? I've followed your posts in the past and have a high regard for your opinions.
