[I am just amazed by the net stocks. The price moves are just phenomenal! I waiting for the day that MSFT's internet biz gets noticed and reflected in its PE.]

I don't think it's going to happen. MSFTs P/E has already risen from many years in the 30's to double that today, which I believe is Wall Street's acknowledgement of their remarkably quick and comprehensive response to the Internet "threat". Frankly, if MSFT starts rising like YHOO or AMZN, I'll be looking to bail before the "irrational exuberance" wears off.

The MSFT plan is to sell blue jeans to the miners, not mine the gold. It's great news that a couple companies have found some nuggets. It will be interesting to see what they do with them. Whatever it is, I bet they wind up buying more blue jeans.

Tech2k says he hopes the "MSFT net business will do something to its stock," like the net stocks...

The problem with this is that the net stocks are being moved by individual investors (most trades in the hundreds). MSFT's float is too big to be moved substantially by a ton of individual investors.... at least that is my impression. comments?

Not that I wouldn't love to see MSFT fly... and I think it will move up 10-20 points, maybe more, in the next 5 to 15 trading days...

IF I had net stocks, I would be watching Yahoo's earnings closely
If Yahoo, etc disappoint, I will be out in a "New York minute!"

Tech2000,
You have to have a strategy in investment. Set up your own goals and get stuck to it and execute step by step . Rome is not built in one day.
