MIAMI (CBS.MW) -- Shares of Perfumania closed up 60 percent Monday after the company announced plans to start selling perfume online in time for Valentine's Day.

The perfume retailer (PRFM) said its Web site www.perfumania.com will set sail Feb. 1.

"We would like our international franchises and Internet affiliates to offer Internet sales in local markets with local prices and local product delivery, making Perfumania the only true global internet fragrance retailer," Ilia Lekach, chairman and CEO, said in a press release.

Perfumania operates 290 discounted brand-name and designer fragrances stores with approximately $180 million in annual sales. In addition, the company has a wholesale division which distributes fragrances and other products to national and regional chains, as well as wholesale distributors throughout North America and overseas
