Lisa, I started picking this up on the radar screen last night via Washington Post. Barr is probably the first of many others to come in "McCarthyism part deaux"... This political "gestapo mentality" will only permeate into other areas of our lives and eventually the market. I am reminded by the famous quote by Alexander Solzhenitsyn: "The strength or weakness of a society depends more on the level of its spiritual life than on its level of industrialization or technology. Neither a market economy nor even general abundance constitutes the crowning achievement of human life. If a nation's spiritual energies have been exhausted, it will not be saved from collapse by the most perfect government structure or by any industrial development. A TREE WITH ROTTEN CORE CANNOT STAND." ....... Lisa, I am getting quite "itchy with market" as we approach this 9770 DOW and 1290 SPX targets I posted on Dec 23. ......BUT, as you know, I have been known to be wrong and early in my market assessment......
