Actually, The Economist just ran a great article about the pros/cons of ERP. Overall, it looks like a good idea that is growing in support. They point out ORCL continues to push the concept and totally dominates the market. Other competitors have made inroads, but their description of this market's growth indicates that ORCL will make a pretty penny on it going forward.
I like ORCL for a lot of reasons, but this is one that makes me LOVE it!

John,

I'm definitely not saying they are like an internet company. However, due to the fact that they are providing software to internet companies they deserve a higher P/E based on the internet boom. Look at MSFT and CSCO, DELL, they are not internet companies but do a lot of business either as a result of or on the Web. They have healthly P/Es which ORCL may deserve. The internet should continue to spur growth and if they can keep coming in with strong earnings we should be in great shape.
