I'm back with another guess.

The online traders all go down during a volatile day. Etrade has been down for over 8 hours. Let that happen on a day that YHOO badly misses earnings and there will be a rush to action that brokerages won't be able to handle. By the time the dust settles no one will know what happened and the NASDAQ will be executing sell orders for three days.

Suddenly the overpriced Dean Witters will look like a good idea. (Overpriced and clueless snobs that they are)

However, since retail investors (read small guys) are now exceeding 50% of the market and doing it online a major failure with online trading during a crucial time could be like playing with needles in a room of overinflated balloons.

Let's see, Etrade is down now, YHOO announces tomorrow....hmmmm..... ;-)

Regards,
Stuart
