Thanks for posting this letter. Saw it when it first came out but forgot about it. One has to marvel at the efforts over the years to solve the water problem. Kept lots of engineers and consultants busy. The latest solution may not be the last. In other small towns in the Arctic the communities pipe or truck water from fresh water lakes surrounding the towns to a central tank, and then distribute it via water trucks to houses, offices, stores, schools, and hospitals. Not sure why Kugluktuk doesn't do the same unless a freshwater lake is too far away to make it feasible. Cal
