saulmon.. regarding your post earnings on Yahoo internet selling ideas, this might help you from Bloomberg yesterday. IF there's skepticism worth selling you might try SEEK, however the internets have been like tornadoes to the upside so watch out... there are more sure plays out there.

"New York, Jan. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Walt Disney Co., the world's No. 2 media company, and No. 4 Internet directory Infoseek Inc. will unveil their Go Network Web site tomorrow as the companies seek to attract more consumers and revenue online.

The companies have been working on Go Network since June, when Disney
agreed to buy 43 percent of Infoseek in exchange for $70 million in cash and its majority stake in Web site designer Starwave Corp.

Go Network offers many features similar to other Internet search
directories, such as free e-mail and stock quotes, and has been in preview for about a month. Even though it offers a few features that are different from those of rivals such as No. 1 Internet directory Yahoo! Inc., some are skeptical that Disney and Infoseek will be able to persuade consumers to use the site.

''The amount of money they'll have to spend to get to the level of (brand awareness) of Lycos or Yahoo is tremendous,'' said Ryan Jacob, portfolio manager of the Internet Fund, a New York-based mutual fund.

Infoseek shares soared 65 percent in late trading, rising 35 7/8 to 91. Disney shares rose 2 13/16 to 35 3/8.

The test version of Go Network offers features such as ''follow-me tabs''that get Internet users quickly jump between Web pages. On other sites, Internet users often have to back out from a page to return to a previous page. The network also integrates Disney's online properties such as ABC news, ESPN sports news and Disney Online Web sites.

Disney Chief Executive Michael Eisner and Infoseek CEO Harry Motro will formally unveil the Go Network tomorrow in New York at ABC's studios. The network is available at www.go.com.

YHOO... saulmon, I'm not sure if I answered you directly or not, but I think probably YHOO's news will have better results for stocks that still are in this stratoshere pricewise.. Even YHOO options are getting very pricey an I opted to change course and pick up ELNK's options since any good news will overflow onto the sector.. at least the potential earners in the sector. I'm very bullish on MSPG and ELNK .. and will no doubt pick up some MSPG Feb calls either early tomorrow morning or sometime in the next session. Their Janaury 27th earnings report should be super. I still like the second tier companies better like BVSN, NTBK, and the e-tailers like PCCC.. I will probably re-enter BVSN tomorrow if there is a follow through from the yhoo earnings report.

aliveinsf.. NTBK perfect melding of fundamentals/technicals/timing

first of all about the messages.. don't let it impede you from asking I don't mention the amount to stop you or others from asking just trying to apologize for NOT answering... I'm handling the ones from subscribers and SI first (that's only about 200).. and a lot of those are just comments and the such..

NTBK.. I picked it up on December 30.. and I sold it at the close of the session.. So it was a position trade for about about 10 sessions. It hit my target price of 35 before earnings came out and I was worried about possible shorts.

<1>Timing:.Earnings are going to be released Jan 18.. so that alone puts NTBK in the forefront for me ahead of any others I might contemplate..
so timing here is essential.. for example I would not contemplate a stock that has its earnings release in February over a stock that has a release in 1 week, nor would I spend too much time on a stock that has nothing to do with earnings in these critical 2 weeks (January 11-23)..

<2>Historical price patterns: NTBK has been a very successful trade for me on two separate occasions and both occasions it has been a hold from 4 sessions to 13 sessions..to 10 sessions. So now we have 'historical results'.. It had recently 'retreated' from a surge in November and then again one in Mid-December that ended when the MACD and MACD Histogram and Stochastics dropped drastically.

3)Momentum of sector: NTBK is in a sector that is already exploding.. for example I was following LEN but did not give it the attention I gave NTBK.. NTBK is one of a group of about 10 second tier internet related stocks that I particularly like and follow.

4) Fundamental Analysis: They are expected to give a postive quarter earnings of $0.13 versus a negative -$0.14 which is a difference of about 192% last year same quarter.. Add points for a negative to positive quarter.. Remember that NTBK is the first PROFITABLE internet bank out there..

5) Technical Analysis .. the day I picked up NTBK.. it was on a plateau after a strong upsurge.. the MACD histogram was under its 0 line and the MACD was trending down as well.. stock was also flirting with its 13 day moving average and falling below than bouncing off.. On that day the MACD triggered a buy signal, and the MACD histogram triggered one as well..the volume indicators were also turning upward and bullish (they are now bullish as well with both negative and positive volume index bullish)

So I would emphasize that the more 'points' you gather up for buying a stock like NTBK the better the chances of a good trade.. There are others like NTBK out there.. NITE is another one that reached my target in only 1 day..
