Neocon, My point was to acknowledge Michelle's remark that much of today's more complex financial instruments and lower grade bonds were introduced during the Reagan era. These bonds obviously played a crucial role in the development of American technology, with the positive effects that you mention. I am not vilifying financial engineering. I am vilifying those individuals in charge of institutions and companies that act recklessly and lie to investors about the risks entailed in order to boost their personal gain. Amazon and MSDW is an explosive and deadly cocktail. Just wait.
