Have you confirmed with your broker the ease of borrowing AMZN shares.
Your strategy is fine on paper but if the stock continues to go up and shorts increase your risk of automatically being bought in would increase. It is not within your control and a real risk of shorting with too much company.

(I was short SUBM this year, as part of a hedge, which I expected to go to zero -- and never pay tax on the gain. It almost got there, but started rallying strongly, and I got bought in without notice.)
