Under the pending new regulations, he expects compensation to be determined according to market values of the claims at the time each park was created -- the price influenced by world demand for minerals as well as the prospects for each property. Our property "Amber 1 &2 was evaluated using that criteria by KPMG and an independant geologist. The value was set at $11,000,000 The bulk of outstanding mineral claims are located in Tatshenshini-Alsek park in northwest B.C., Kokanee Glacier and Goat Range in the Kootenays ,Tweedsmuir in west-central B.C., the Stein Valley near Lytton, Strathcona on Vancouver Island, and Granby near Grand Forks. Goat range parkSabine Jessen, executive-director of the B.C. branch of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Association, said she would be concerned aboutclaims for compensation where there are no apparent mineral resources. She also has trouble with the concept of the province having to pay for its own resources. "It should only be for operating mines," she said of the compensation issue. "Anything in the exploration stage, the mining community must recognize government still has a role in setting policy and making final decisions." We had mineral resources, mine shafts etc.etc. so the infrastructure was there! The premise of "only an operating mine" is a typical NDP stance that will not hold up in court. The reimbursement to one of the complaintants was for its proven value and not for anoperating mine..so the precedent has been set! After reading this, How do you feel? Arbitration a real possibility?? That is where the money is or so I was told? This is without a doubt "a poker game". The BC Gov is reversing all of its strategies to entice mining back into BC. They are doing a backwater to the place where they were before all this crap happened. Legally they have to minimize "to the public" there liabilities. So they are going to come out with bland statements of compensation...just what is expected at this point! We shall see!! the Chief
