Dear JAB: At this point I would take ANY news, even the bad news (ggg) is that desperation or what?
Makes sense that Board would restrict insider purchases at this time. Why? Because, price is VERY LOW, there has been NO public information and VERY LIKELY they would have good news not yet available to the public. For instance, That Pfizer item you mentioned earlier. To me that is VERY significant. Proves CMND is more than a one track pony (although I personally had no trouble with them in a profitable niche market). If there has been a lot of new hires which we suspect that also may likely mean good news. So, if they buy now with no public info out there they could be accused of trading on insider knowledge. Considering they are just now wrapping up one class action suit I can see them being very cautious.
Now, as to this share buy back, not so sure I would like that idea. There is very little stock in the float now. If we ever hope to have institutional interest there must be enough float to give them some liquidity. If we want to hit it BIG we just have to have that Institutional interest. What I would prefer that they consider is buying some Y2K depressed company that would MATCH their needs and goals. It would have to be immediately accretitive and I think since our stock is also depressed it would have to be for cash. I ONLY make this suggestion IF such a company were DEPRESSED (ie a bargain) and MATCH our needs. CASH is KING. We got the CASH and I would not squander it for pie in the sky or FUTURE results. JDN
