"the chances of a takeover have increased with the ATI action."

Ken, with all due respect, I disagree with the above. The ATI deal simply focused public attention on the industry. It's been obvious that something was going on behind closed doors at NXTL since last October and the L3 cancellation reinforced that notion. The ATI deal got NXTL's price off the basement floor and moved it halfway up the stairs to the first floor. When the price gets on the elevator and heads for the 50th floor on its way to the 75th floor we'll know that a deal is imminent. I should say "If it happens..."
Craig McCaw learned his lessons well from Clairol. Remember their slogan? "Only her hairdresser knows for sure." Ditto CM. And my guess is that hasn't changed because of ATI.

Ken,

I anticipate the fourth quarter report making it
very clear that positive cash flow is sinking into
the bottom line. Arnie is correct. The ATI action
has directed attention to the fact that NEXTEL might
soon be the ONLY national wireless company that is
not part of a 150 BILLION DOLLAR (or 200) Long Distance
Mega Giant.
