volatility is only a characteristic...

If amzn ended unchanged on Friday, what should the nasdaq do ?

stocks are allowed to go up or down...

what I want to know is why short selling is allowed ?

<< NASD Committee to Meet to Discuss Nasdaq Volatility>>

Glen, this is complete bs.

Anyone who buys nasdaq stocks does so at least partly because of the volatility; hopefully the upward volatility. Otherwise they would buy NYSE and AMEX stocks where the "safe" auction system presides, and where stock trading is much, much more calm. I am sick of hearing about mm manipulation and volatilty on the nasdaq. Volatility is the purpose, the goal of the nasdaq system.

Don't people get this?
