I know someone who bought several iMacs for a school music program where they use MIDI and they've been doorstops all this time.

That someone should be canned.

Isn't the USB slower than SCSI? I know someone who bought several iMacs for a school music
program where they use MIDI and they've been doorstops all this time. Still no USB MIDI interface
so they had to dig out the Macs they were going to throw away, that the iMacs were designed to
replace, to use those older ones.

USB is analageous to ADB, not SCSI. It's obvious that the person with purchasing power did absolutely no research on the subject matter before blindly jumping in and buying iMacs. What's the next purchase going to be? eMates to do statistical analysis?

Linda, this will be a nice solution for your friend who
bought all the iMacs for a music program:

maccentral.com
(about Midiman via MacCentral)

Good luck to 'em...
