Hi Pamela:

On Yahoo, EP_80 point out that borders.com has been
operational for a while. Having visited both the amazon.com
and borders.com Web sites, I will add the comment that
Amazon's site is far superior. Borders does not have
a good search engine for finding books by topics or
keywords. Also, the software used by Amazon to find
books that you will like based on previous purchases
does an excellent job, provided you have enough of
a purchase record.

In general, I think that the combination of good
discounts and no sales tax makes Amazon a really
good place to shop for books. I am grateful to
the Amazon shareholders who are subsidizing
all of us, the customers. I think it is a wonderful
business model where goods are sold below cost.
Anyone ready to guess what will happen if
Ammazon attempts to increase its prices?

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
