Alfredo, Deutsche Bank in my experience has a tendancy to go against the grain in Brazil. Their logic on UBB didn't make much sense to me. I've seen 'em win a few and lose a few, but they seem to have called the biggie...TBR shortly after the auction last July.

I'd be curious what Bear Stearns position is if anyone has access...seems they have tended to lean towards Deutsche bank also.

I agree, should be a great long-term investment...if not shorter term.

UBB is priced as if they will post much lower earnings, maybe even a loss and write down bad debts which will decrease book value. This may or may not occur, but if it does I believe it will signal a bottom , ie much of this is factored into stock price. Comments welcome.
