Nasty sell-off? Not really.

Knock on wood, as the market is hours from closing, but AAPL is currently down less than any of the other computer stocks that I track.

The less speculative buying we see in the days before earnings, the less likely an October-like sell-off will be after earnings.

As long as we hold some new-found support levels (closing above 44 is pretty important, IMO), I would NOT worry about AAPL simply following the market down on some profit-taking.

MeDroogies: this is what happens when you have earnings release during options expiry week; AAPL and other get jacked around
Take a look at INTC, with EPS report tonite, up 12 yest., down 6 today, tomorrow?; you want to see radical price movements, check out CMGI today, on a pre split basis the trading range TODAY was almost 140 points.

Odd - Recon's Morgan, FWIW, seems to be predicting earnings consistent with estimates...

Support held up pretty well for a market down day I think. Went up by the end of the day.
