I tried to enter a market order near the close and by the time their
S L O W system worked, the market was closed. I thought, having tried to enter a day order, that it would just be not entered. NOT SO, screen says order will be entered at the open of the market tomorrow.
No way do I want a market order executed at the open! When I try to cancel, I get a message that the screen in not working.
It is now 5:10 PM and I have been on hold for customer service for over an hour.
My account has only been open for a few days and I am going to transfer it out. My problem is that transfers take 3-6 weeks and I will be out of the market for that time period. Bad as that is, I will have to do it. E*Trade has been hyped by Gomez and some others,
so I thought they would be good. I have accounts at Dreyfus and JB Oxford and they are both superior to E*Trade for executing orders.
I am going to seriously investigate direct electronic trading through
CyberBroker or MB trading.
Any comments and/or experience with those two, or others would be appreciated.
It is now 5:20 and I am still on hold. Unbelievable!
