OT Buck, this is what I have(my friend asked me about them and is going to bet the house on the IPO (fool): Yea, about as foolish as the guy who bet the house on the AMZN IPO. But realistically, I believe Covad is doing the right thing. I wouldn't bet the house on them, but I think they have a more sound business model than Amazon.com, who's valuation is very questionable. Covad is a CLEC, and they will disrupt the very profitable operations of the fat RBOCs. I also think there are strong barriers to entry in this CLEC space, and the first-movers in this market for DSL will have a very strong position. Covad, Northpoint, and DSL Networks are the first-movers, but it looks like Covad will be the first IPO. bucky89
