I just got home from the Annual Meeting. All of the shareholder proposals passed, and the company is now e.Digital Corporation. They are trying to get the symbol "edig" for NASDAQ, and we'll be informed in a few days. The website address will probably be www.edig.com.

No real surprises at the meeting. About 80-100 people attended. The use of LU's compression of 15:1 (called PAC vs. MP3 which is used by others) was discussed, and we were told that some companies which have used MP3 are now saying that PAC is better. LU's technology produces real CD-quality sound - not near CD quality. Also, the final version of the player that e.Digital is working on with Lucent will play through the FM radio in your car -- with no wires. A small company in Baton Rogue, LA called Celestial Technology, is providing software for computers that will link the music player to the computer and allow you to manage your music library on your computer. You'll be able to take downloaded music and select individual tracks that are then put on a flash memory card (using Micro OS from e.Digital) in any order that you want them played. We saw a short demo of the software, which seems pretty neat.

I'll have to listen to my tape and go through my notes for more later.

We all got nice coffee mugs with e.Digital printed on the side. (The "e" stands for "embedded systems" we were told.)
