DMA I disagree. There has even been some commentary on how this abortion issue is really divisive within the republican party. Its so powerful it mobilizes their base - just look at what happens here in these discussion forums when you discuss abortion, these right wing guys get really emotional. More than any other issue, abortion defines the far right. Flynt could have just stopped with exposing a few guys with abortion and that would have been enough, he should have stopped. The sex stuff just dilutes everything.

I had no idea Barr would be exposed for this! Damn what an incredible fool he is! (the only person I would have preferred was DeLay)

I maintain that involvement with an abortion is the absolute worst thing a republican can get caught in. The womens groups will never, never let Barr forget this. Every abortion debate from now on is going to be clouded with this cast of "you liar - you only oppose abortion because an unwanted pregnancy has never happened to you". Women resent men making laws regarding abortion anyway and this is just a nail in that coffin. What a gift!
