I wouldn't mind learning about KDE, though. Got a link, perchance? Is this an admin tool? For a
desktop, X is fine for me, but I would be willing to try whatever is out there just to see it.


KDE provides a desktop environment that is sort of a cross between Win95 and CDE. It includes features such as a configurable GUI login, screen saver/locker, GUI menus and docked toolbars for doing basic functionality such as starting a terminal, logging out, shutting down, etc. It also includes GUI admin tools, a GUI file manager, and other stuff that brings the usability of Linux much closer to that of Win95 or a Mac.
