Look back at the log that Mads posted. The 7/8 was coded "Z", for a delayed report, and those do not show up as the last trade but do count in the day's volume unless they're reported outside normal market hours. Usually, the Z's (or "SD"'s on Bloomberg) are used only when the price has moved so that the trade, by the time they get around to reporting it, is outside the current spread, OR suggests an ask-side trade rather than a bid, or vice versa.
